Locations

I would like to use the bridges at night because it would be effective with the lights, also because the album name from the song I have taken of Ellie Gouldings is called lights, therefore it would make the music video believable.
I also want to use a bedroom that is all white as I have seen this in Ellie Goulding's video with Calvin Harris and found it to look really effective.
Another location I would like to use is saltwell park because of the scenery, it would look great in the background of the music video.

My Interpretation Of The Song

There is no offical meaning to the lyrics however I think that it's about a girl waiting for a boy as he is only willing to be with her behind closed doors. She knows that this is wrong and that she shouldn't wait for him and be with someone else but she seems to love him and is kidding herself that he is going to turn around and make it official.

Getting permission to use the song

In order to get permission to use the song I had to message Polydor records. Although I may not get a reply it is still crucial that I ask.

Analysis

I have started analysing previous music videos such as a final project from the last a level class at my school. *INSERT VIDEO CLIP* This music video to Florence and the Machine – Shake it out uses the storyline of a fairy tale for the concept of their music video as it is predominantly a love song. I found the concept hard to grasp at first as I was not clear as to what was going on, this could have been improved by making the narrative more clear. The scenes of the girl miming are good in terms of camera angles etc. however the acting is rather poor, it needed to look real whereas I felt this didn’t. I liked the noticeable changes in colour difference to represent the different storylines however I was unclear of what the difference was meant to show. I found that the locations for the music video were suitable and the ranges of different shots and angles they incorporated fitted the theme of the video.
